I have created as my alter ego a combination of a field mouse and a mechanical mouse which has had its adventures in various exhibitions. The stages of these adventures have mostly been installations, sometimes big, sometimes small. The picture on the hoarding was a photo of a small installation pondering my relationship to art institutions, especially to art museums: the mouse hesitating in front of an open mouse-trap filled with pieces of sugar. It has its origins in the fate of Marcel Duchamp’s small cage filled with pieces of marble called Why not sneeze? Katherine Dreyer, one of the founders of MOMA, hated the work and gave it away…
